Progressive Revelation

Hello my beloved saints, I wish you a great and prosperous month of April. I believe the Word of God is producing fruits in you as it does in the life of all who put their focus on it. I want to admonish you on what I titled ‘Progressive Revelation.’

Our revelation of Jesus Christ is supposed to be progressive. When we give our hearts to Christ we know little. Like Apostle Paul said, when I was a child, I spake as a child, thought as a child and understood as a child but when I became a man, I put away childish things,” 1st Corinthians 13:11. So it is also for us, we know little when we come to Christ and the little we know we apply, and as we begin to grow in Christ, God begins to show us more things and open our eyes to see more. You will get to a point in your life that you’ll discover that the revelation you use for a particular situation seems not to be working anymore, you need a higher revelation, and you need God to teach you more. In the book of Ephesians 1:15-17, the bible says, “Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.” We need to know more and understand more and see more and work in more revelation of him.

Many years ago there was a particular vehicle that was made; which had a problem, the problem was that it could not climb steep hills as it ought to. Where ever there are steep hills it takes that vehicle a very long time to climb. It had some manufacturing defects. Complaints were made to the manufacturers and they made a second series of that vehicle, and when the new series was released, it climbed steeps hills with ease. In other words, what was not in the first series was put in the second series and capacity was increased, potential increased and power was increased and success was inevitable. That vehicle was able to climb because something was added. God wants to add something unto you and that thing is progressive revelation; increase in revelation. Because whatsoever situation that you face today, it is the revelation of the word that you need to put the devil under your feet. The bible says, “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly…” Romans 16:20. That does not mean you should fold your arms and do nothing, it means you have to hear and increase in revelation to ensure that the devil is put underneath your feet.

In the book of 1st Chronicles 14:8-17 the bible says, “When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them. And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand. So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim. And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire. And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley. Therefore David inquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines. David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.” The bible says David has been promoted and the philistines came against him. The philistines were the arch-enemy of Israel. And David enquired of the Lord ‘do I go? And God said, ‘Go and I will deliver them into your hands. And the bible says, David defeated them by the instructions of the LORD and they fled. But the Philistines gathered again in the valley, and David would have used the first strategy and instruction of the Lord but he didn’t. He enquired of the Lord again, he went back again for another revelation. And the Lord gave Him a different revelation, a different strategy, which means if he had used the first strategy he would have been defeated. He was victorious because he enquired of the Lord and He did according to the revelation of the word of God

The bible made us to understand in the book of Hebrews 1:1-2, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.” In other words the revelator is Jesus Christ. In the book of Revelation 1:1 the bible says, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John.” There are revelations God has given to show the church. This particular revelation was given unto John to show unto the church. Hence the bible says in the book of Ephesians 4:8-16, that the gift of ministry (i.e. the Pastors, apostle etc.) is given so that you can have revelation that will make you grow and grow until you become like Christ in actions and attitude; So that you will no longer be Children tossed to and fro by ever wind of doctrine by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness that lie in wait to deceive. Then you will know how to speak the truth in all things and whatsoever comes against you, you know what the word of God says and how to stand against it for the victory to be yours in the name of Jesus.

The revelation of God’s word is gotten from the church, in Matthew 18:20, Jesus said where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there in their midst’ which means a church is the gathering of God’s saints. And where the gathering of the saints is, God is present with them. In Psalm 84:7 the bible says, “They go from strength to strength; every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.” This is talking about the strength that is in your spirit to carry out assignment, to carry our changes, to carry out manifestations of greatness. He said they go from strength to strength every one that appears in Zion; in others words every time you come to church you receive strength for the next level. The Bible made us to understand in Hebrews 12:22-24, “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” The church is the heavenly Jerusalem, whenever we gather, not only is Jesus in our midst, the angels are with us also. As we fellowship together, sins are been forgiven by the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus. As we gather, there are commands and distributions of blessings.

What is the Church? And what happens in the Church? 1st Timothy 3:15, “But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” The church is the pillar and the house and place for the revelation of the word of God to be taught. And the entrance of the word gives revelation, and revelation commands change, miracles and greatness. The church is the gate of heaven where God descends and ascends upon us. (Genesis 28:10-22).

God bless you, see you next month
