YOUR MIND IS THE BATTLEFIELD

Hello my dearly beloved saints. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. 

The bible says in the book of 1st Timothy 6:12, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” The fight you have been called to fight in Christ Jesus is a good fight because you’ve already won. How? Because the bible says your faith is the victory that overcomes the world; you have already overcome; therefore your fight is a fight of success because Jesus already gave you the victory. Ephesians 6:12-14 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore...” Stand therefore; don’t give up or give in, you are a winner and a success because it is a fight of victory but you must resist the devil. Your fight is not against the government or your boss in the office, it is against the devil and forces that you do not see, you must stand your ground and resist him and he will flee. 

Your mind is a very vital part of your wellbeing and that is where the devil is after. In your marriage, in your finances and in every aspect of your life the devil is fighting your mind. If he is able to capture your mind, then he is able to capture you, that is why 2nd Corinthians 10:3-5 says, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” The weapons that you have for your fight are not carnal, they are not physical weapons yet they are mighty, strong and great for pulling down imaginations and thoughts to the obedience of Christ. Scriptures also made us to understand that, “...as a man thinketh in his heart so he is.” (Proverbs 23:7) You are not broke, until you think you are broke. When you think you are broke, then you believe you are broke because whatever you think becomes what you believe and whatever you believe rules you. 

The fight is in your mind that is where you have to refute every idea and suggestion of the devil because the devil has three weapons; they are thoughts, suggestions and ideas. You’ve got to choose what you think about, you can’t think about everything. If God will be on your side it depends on what you think about. Elijah became frustrated when he heard the message from Jezebel and the Bible says when he saw the message; in other word he began to think about it and it became a substance of reality; that drove him to end his ministry. The man that was full of faith yesterday who killed more than four hundred prophets of Baal became afraid of a woman because he has tended to the ideas and suggestion of the threat of a woman (1st Kings 19:2). No matter what the devil threatens you with, it will never come to pass until you take thought of it, that is why Jesus said in Matthew 6:31, “take no thought saying..” when you take thought and begin to say it then the devil has won. 

The war and the battle is in your mind, if the devil wins in your mind he has conquered you. You must learn to refute the words that come against you and counter it, Isaiah 54:17 says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” The negative words that you accept and ponder on have the ability to restructure your life and make your destiny what God never intended. You’ve got to fight the thoughts that aren’t of God because one of your inheritances is to stand against every word that is not of God. The world you see today was created by words and your life will be structured by words, if you allow the wrong words to keep coming into your life, it will spoil your destiny, it doesn’t matter what God has created you to do and how much grace and ability you have. You must condemn the wrong words that come against you. 

You have to structure your life by you knowing how to accept the good and reject the evil, Hebrews 11:13-16, “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” The word mindful in the scripture above simply means mind-full, that is to be conscious of something. If these men of great faith had their minds full of memories of where they came out from, they would have had opportunities to return. It is not as though these men weren’t tempted, inspite of the temptation, they had their minds full of the new city God has created and they refused to think about the old place they were coming from. The reason many Christians are struggling is because they are looking back at the place where they came out from; instead of seeking the new city, they are seeking the old city, holding unto it and not wanting to let it go. Abraham took his eyes away from where he came out from and was looking for a new city in Christ, in other words, he was seeking after heavenly ideas. When you sit down and begin to think about the old lifestyle you left for Christ, very soon you will go back to it. The children of Israel died in the wilderness according to Numbers 11:4-6 because they looked back. Take away from your mind the old city and look for a new city in Christ Jesus. No sprinter runs a race and keeps looking back; if he does he will never win. Until you let the old go, the new will never manifest grace. The Bibles says, “God will keep Him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Whatsoever your mind is resting on is what is ruling your life; let your mind stay on God. 

It is a fight and the fight is in your mind, you have to say no to the thoughts, suggestions and ideas of the devil, whatever you allow rules your life. Until you think like Jesus Christ, you will never become the man or woman God has created you to be. God bless you and see you next month.
