IT's NOT WORTH IT: HYPOCRISY

Image
Hello brethren, you are welcome to the month of June. I give God thanks for you, for His power and His word working tremendously in you. May grace and peace be multiplied to you in Jesus name. I will like to bring to your awareness what I titled “HYPOCRISY”  Hypocrisy refers to the act of claiming to believe something but acting in a different manner. The word is derived from the greek term for “actor,” Literally, one who wears a mask. In other words, someone who pretends to be what he is not.  The Bible calls hypocrisy a sin, and every sin is not palatable, neither does it have a wonderful ending. There are two forms hypocrisy can take: that of professing to believe in something and then acting in a manner contrary to that belief, and that of looking down on others when we ourselves are flawed. If God showed and wants us to understand that he condemns hypocrisy in the Old Testament then He doesn’t want us to partake from it in the new. The prophet Isaiah co...

Food For Teens: JESUS WE ARE

Have you ever examined yourself as believer or just find out from the scriptures the kind of life you are supposed to live here on earth? If you haven’t I will have to tell you that I have and I discovered from the scriptures that every believer is supposed to live a supernatural life. During the course of this article, I will be showing you how, what and why this life was given to us. What life does a believer have? Every man who is born of God, has the life of God in him. Just like a lion does not give birth to a goat, even so the life of God can be found in every man who is truly born again. Like I would tell anyone who would care to listen, the first Christian who ever walked on the surface of the earth is Jesus Christ. The same life He had when He came into this world is the exact same life that we receive when we get born again. So, since that is the life of Jesus on earth that should be our perfect example as believers on how to succeed. So much was documented about the life ...

IT'S NOT WORTH IT: PRIDE

Image
Hello beloved brethren, I welcome you in the name of the Lord to the month of May. May the glory of God be revealed in you in this awesome month in Jesus name. I will be admonishing you on what I titled “PRIDE” In Matthew 5:3, the Bible says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” To be poor in spirit means to rate yourself insignificant, it means to humble yourself enough to do what the word of God says, irrespective of your own view. This scripture clearly shows that humility is of the heart, so also pride is of the heart. Humility and pride are opposite in nature, hence one has a positive impact while the other negative, one of the light the other of darkness. As children of God, the Bible made us understand that we are the children of light and not of darkness (1st Thessalonians 5:5), therefore nothing of darkness should be tolerated in us. Pride never takes a man up, neither does it allow him to remain in the place of power and authority, ...

FOOD FOR TEENS: DILIGENCE (GOD'S WAY UP)

A lot of Christians have this notion that as believers we are supposed to work as ants and eat like elephants, this is a very nice idea but the true question I would like to find out is “where in scriptures did God promise us this? I want us to understand the true concept of work as believers, work according to scriptures was never meant to just feed a man, it is supposed to be a way for us to do God’s will concerning our lives. Ephesians 4:28; "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth." As believers our work is not primarily to feed our stomachs or take care of our physical needs only but to ultimately be a blessing to others, it goes way beyond us, look at the rich man who was so particular about storing wealth for himself in Luke 12:16-21, "And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he t...

PREPARING FOR THE 2ND COMING OF CHRIST

Image
I remember several years ago, during the month of December, when my dad would promise to take us out for Christmas shopping. He would ask us to dress up and wait for him while he goes to attend to some urgent business in the office. We would dress up and wait expectantly. I remember looking to see his pick-up van among the fleet of cars going pass our frontage now and then. Our confidence on his promise would be so profound we would refuse to give up, believing that he would always keep to his word. This is the kind of attitude that the Lord wants us to have towards the second coming. He wants us to believe and expect His soon return. Jesus has said in several parts of scripture that He is coming again to receive us to Himself, so that where He is we shall be also – John 14:1-3. Jesus is coming again but we must be ready and prepared for His second coming. It is only those who expect His coming that He would appear to in His second coming. Hebrews 9:28, “So Christ was once o...

IT'S NOT WORTH IT: DIE TO SELF

Image
Hello my beloved brethren, I welcome you in the name of the Lord to the month of April. I hope you are increasing in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? I will like to admonish you on what I titled “DIE TO SELF.” The concept of dying to self is found throughout the Bible. It expresses the essence of Christian life. Dying to self is something that Christians find very hard to do, especially in the world where there is pressure in all sides to replace the love of God for something lesser. Essentially, the Christian life is an ongoing process of dying to self and living for Christ, seeking His will and kingdom and righteousness, rather than our own. To die to self means in every moment of life to say “NO” to self and to say “YES” to God. To die to self means to “dethrone” self and “enthrone” God. As a believer you must submit yourself and your will to the will of God, because the spiritual growth and maturity of the child of God is solely dependent on how much ex...

FOOD FOR TEENS: JOY (The Underrated)

Image
My beloved teens, welcome to the month of April. We bless God for His goodness and mercy towards us this year. I will like to bring to your awareness the power of “JOY (The Underrated). There is an aspect of Christian life that is not getting the attention that it deserves. People talk about holiness, peace, faith, love but hardly have you heard people talk about joy, but joy is one of the most vital aspects of the Christian life. In Galatians 5:22, we were told that the fruit of the Spirit is love, Joy, peace…. You could see that immediately after love you find joy. A lot of Christians unconsciously think that to be joyful always is not a quality of a strong Christian. We usually equate joy to un-seriousness, the Bible talked about been sober. Someone will ask how can I be sober at the same time walk in Joy because we are told in scriptures to rejoice evermore. Ephesians 5:18-19 perfectly explains that, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the spirit,...
