SEEDFUL AND FRUITFUL PART ONE

If you want to know the mind of God concerning creation, what you need to do is to go to the book of Genesis. It is in the book of Genesis, you will be able to know why God created what He created and why He created them that way. In the book of Genesis 1:6-12 the Bible says, “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” God is trying to show us something in verse 11. He is trying to show us the purpose of creation. Let’s read Genesis 1:11 again but this time replace the word yield with produce, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb producing seed, and the fruit tree producing fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.” God is making us to understand that even though He created the earth, His focus was in the seed. The purpose of God making the earth is for the production of seeds and God’s purpose for creating the tree is so that He can create the fruit containing the seed. What God is interested in is the fruit and the seed.

Genesis 1:12 says, “And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” It was only good when the herb could produce seed and the tree could produce fruit. If the tree cannot produce fruit and the herb cannot produce seed, it has negated the purpose of God’s creation, therefore it is bad. God created every one of us for one purpose, which is for enlargement, increase, multiplication, fruitfulness, expansion; and for this to happen, you must have seed. If you are not creating seed or fruit, you are negating your purpose on earth; something is wrong. No matter what happens in your life, you must pursue fruitfulness, increase and expansion. Never remain the way you were, you must increase and enlarge your coast because God created you for increase, for fruitfulness, for expansion and for producing results. God hates unfruitfulness, look at the book of Luke 13:6-7, “He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbered it the ground?” Any time God takes assessment of your life and sees that there is no increase, He doesn’t like it. You cannot afford to be the same Christian you were when you gave your life to Christ. If you are not fruitful, seedful, multiplying and impactful you are wasting time.

Look at the book of Matthew 25:14-27, you see how God expresses His hatred again for unfruitfulness, “For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.” If you are not fruitful and producing results in your life, God sees you as wicked. Why did God see the servant as wicked? Because he had the ability to produce results but he acted as though he didn’t have it. There is no Christian who has not been given the ability to be fruitful. Everyone one of us have the ability to create change not just in our own lives but also in the lives of others but if you are not doing it, it’s not because you don’t have the ability but because you are selfish.

God bless you.
