FAITH IN THE SPOKEN WORD

MATTHEW 14:29

“And Peter answered him and said, LORD, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water”

         Peter has to wait for a word from Jesus to act on. He could have seen Jesus walk on the water and try to the same and drown. But instead he asked for a definite word from Jesus. He said if you are the one bid me come, and Jesus said come. And when he obeyed the spoken word of Jesus, he walked on the water.

There is the general word of God for all Christian, it is called logos. It is sharp and power. 

Hebrews 4;12.

“For the word “Logos” of God is quick (alive) and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword. Piecing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." The general word of God or logos is the written instruction for the believers, it is sure and steadfast, an anchor and surety for the soul, you can hold unto it until surely comes.

For examples, when scripture says in 1 Peter 2:24 thus, Who his own self same our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed”  

That is a general word for all of unbelievers, you can hold on to it without wavering. But sometimes as you do, the symptoms ailments are still there, the pains are still there but yet, you believe it and keep declaring it. Sometimes it looks like the situation is getting worse but yet you hold on to it as an anchor of safety, don’t give in because you feel the symptom, don’t fear because you still feel the pain first hold on and keep holding on. Some time you discover that immediately you start making your declaration of faith the pain go and the healing comes. Sometimes it take a while for the healing to come and sometime it seem not to go at all. There are situations that only the spoken and definite word can change but you must hold on to the logos for the Rhema to come II Peter 1:19.

We have a more sure word of prophecy; whose unto ye do well that ye take heed as unto a light that shinneth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.”

The more sure word of prophesy is the written word of God. He says, take heed unto it as a light that shinneth in a dark place until the Rhema comes which is the day dawn and the day start that will arise in your heart.

            In Luke Chapter four during the forty day, feast of Jesus, Satan came against him tempting him. From Luke 4:3-8, Jesus kept saying it is written, he kept quoting logos unto him. But the devil kept tempting Him, in order words the situation remained until he said in verse 12, “And Jesus answering said unto him, it is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God” And that brought the temptation to an end and the devil left Him. That word “it is said” is not logos but Rhema, But he hold on to logos until God gave Him the key word for the solution of the problem. May you receive a key word in Jesus name. May be that is the reason that situation is yet to change, you need a key word, you need a definite word, you need Rhema. Many years ago, the Lord showed me a vision. I saw a ugly looking creature that looks like an ape raring every good things it could come across. It took it seconds to bring down a whole tree. Though the creature was small but it effect was devastating. It could bring a whole apartment down within a few second. I kept watching it on the television until it jumped out of the T.v into my sitting room. I remembered the word of God in Mark 16:17, “These signs shall follow them that believe, in my name shall they cast out devils”

            So, I said to the creature, “I command you in the name of Jesus to go out of my apartment”. But the creature refuses to leave. It started laughing, I kept speaking the word but it seem not to have effect on it but stood there laughing. Then I received a key word from God in my heart. I said to the creature my Lord Jesus Christ defeated you more than two thousand years ago. He spoiled principalities and power and has made a public spectacle of you and triumphed over you it it. You have no power over me  because you are already defeated. Now I order you to go out of this place. As I spoke these words it became ashamed covered its face and worked out of my apartment without destroying a thing. Brothers and sisters, you need a key word to turn that situation around. This is the reason you must have the word in you. It has to dwell in you richly. Colossians 3:16.

            You have to put on the whole armour of God by mediating on the word of God, so as to put the devil where he belongs when the evil day comes. God richly bless you, see you next month.
