DESTROYING THE ENEMIES WITHIN (PART ONE)

             An army general expressed his battle plan to his officers. He told them the strategy they were going to employ in conquering their enemies after they gained entrance into the city. When he concluded his explanation, one of the officers asked a formidable question, thus “sir, who is going to open the city gate for us, so that we can gain entrance into the city?” The general, answered the officer and said, “Don't worry officer I already have a fifth column inside the city they will open the city gate for us from within”
                The enemy keeps trying to create a fifth column in us believer, so that they can infiltrate and attack us from without. The devil knows that without the enemies with he certainly will not be able to win the battle, so he continues to attack our minds to accept his thoughts, ideas and suggestions, so as to gain an inroad into us, but these enemies must be destroyed to frustrate the plans of Satan in us.
                The children of Israel after a great victor over Jericho decided to war against Ai. Joshua sent me to spy out Ai to know how battle ready they would be. The men returned saying that it was needless for them to go with their entire army because the nation of Ai was few. They suggested that they should go with about two or three thousand men. They went against Ai with three thousand men. They went against Ai with three thousand soldiers and came back with a humiliating defeat the underestimated Ai smote about thirty six men of the army of Israel.
                Joshua was greatly displeased and decided to seek the Lord. The Lord revealed to Joshua that they disobeyed His instruction in their former battle against Jericho. Somebody took of the accursed thing and converted it for his personal use, therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies. Joshua went ahead and did a spiritual check and discovered that Archan the son of Carmi stole the accursed thing and hind them for his personal use.
           What is the accursed thing?. In Joshua 6 before the children of Israel invaded Jericho, Joshua by the inspiration of the Spirit of God told the army of Israel thus, “And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priest blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, shout, for the LORD hath given you the city”
“And the city shall be accursed, event it, and all that are therein, to the Lord …”
“And ye, in any wise keep your selves from the accursed thing, least ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel  a curse, and trouble it”
“But all the silver and gold and vessels of brass and iron, are concentrated unto the LORD; they shall come into the treasury of the LORD” Joshua 6:16 – 19
                What then are the accursed things?

IT'S NOT WORTH IT:THE WRONG RACE

Greetings beloved, I welcome you to the month of February. I hope you are increasing in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? I will like to admonish you on what I titled ‘The Wrong Race.’ Hebrews 12:1-2 says, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” The race of faith we are supposed to run is a race that we run with patience, looking unto Jesus. It is a race whose focus and end is the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the Christian race.
