BEHOLD

Welcome to this wonderful month of February, may the grace of our Lord continually increase in your life in Jesus name.
This month I would like to direct your eyes to something in God’s word that will change your perception about life and it is titled behold. The word ‘behold’ means to direct the eyes to, or fix them upon an object. The word behold appeared in the Bible 1,298 times. It has to be pretty important for it to appear that number or times.
We know that there are two realms; the physical realm and the spiritual realm. We also know that God dwells in the spirit realm. The Bible tells us in Galatians 5:16 to walk in the Spirit. How can we walk in the Spirit? To walk in the spirit, have to first see in the spirit. Just like walking physically you must first see where you headed before you move, that is why blind people always require guidance in order to walk. The same applied in the realm of the spirit and this is why the Bible keeps telling us to behold that is to see. But this time we need to see with the eyes of our spirit in order to walk in the spirit. The truth is walking by faith is exactly the same as walking in the Spirit.
Before we go further I want you to be conscious of the spirit realm, where God dwells. Know that your spirit dwells there also, there is a type of life God has given to every believer in the realm of the spirit and that life should control our physical life and this is another reason the Bible keeps telling us to behold. 2nd Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; BEHOLD all things are become new.” Did you see that? Look (direct your eyes) all things are new. God isn’t showing you what He has done in the flesh but in the spirit because His blessings are spiritual (Eph 1:3). Therefore, you must learn to see with your spirit. Now I know you are wondering how can I see in the spirit?
Jesus Christ says to us in John 6:63, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” We see the realm of the spirit through the word of God, the word of God is trying to show us exactly what is in the realm of the spirit that is why we must always build our reality with what it says. Whatever God’s word says concerning you as new creatures in Christ, take it as it is, build your reality with it. I will give you three examples to help you learn how to see and walk in the spirit so as to have absolute effectiveness in the body of Christ.
1. Matthew 18:20; “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” Now when you come to church or you gather with other people in fellowship to God, learn to see Jesus in your midst with the eyes of your mind which is the eyes of your spirit. I bet you, if you do this you will pray differently, you will fellowship differently not being conscious of man but of God’s presence then you can pour out yourself unto Him in fellowship and feel refreshed in His presence. Try it and see.
2. 1st Peter 2:2: “Who is own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sins should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” Now behold that, Let’s just look at the last part “by His stripes ye were healed,: close your eyes and see the reality of this scripture; for every stroke he took, it was for our healing, it is just like Jesus saying, what is the cost of divine healing for my children? And He was told you God, sinless being, creator of the whole universe, must be flogged mercilessly and suffer like a mere man and Jesus said “I will go ahead, see the suffering and the stripes He took for you, until you angrily get out of that sick bed Hallelujah.
For the sake of space I would like to stop here but before I stop, look at 2nd Corinthians 4:18a, “While we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are seen.” Keep looking into the realm of the spirit through God’s word and watch your life become everything you see in Christ Jesus.
See you next month and God bless you.
