The Voice of Nature

Dearly beloved teens, I bring you greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hope you have been living the victorious life in Christ Jesus.

Do you know that nature speaks? but before we delve into it let us first understand the word "nature." In layman's term, nature is everything we can see that man didn't create but has existed independent of man and Its unique characteristics. Some of the elements of nature includes; trees, animals, mountains, seas and oceans and even man himself etc.

Everyman in the world is look for the creator of the universe, the mighty and invisible hands behind nature, who we all refer to as the almighty God. Some few school of thoughts believe that there is nobody responsible for the creation of the universe (the Bible refers to them as fools in Psalm 14:1).

We have established that almost every man is seeking for relationship with the creator of the universe, which is the whole essence of religion. My question now is, how many have found this God? and those who have, what is the proof that the god of their religion is really the God who created the universe?

Now check this: Nature has unique concepts and ideologies that controls it and these ideas reflect the personality of this creator of the universe (for example, as a man you can't create something that does not reflect who you are, therefore by careful study of your invention one can have an idea of the kind of person you are). Same with God, with all His numerous creations, He has expressed Himself through what He has created. Romans 1:19-20, "Because that which may be known of God is manifested in them; for God hath showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even the eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse." The above scripture simply says that through nature we can learn about this mighty God because nature and its quality are the shadows of God.

Below are three ways through which nature describes God and scriptures that confirms who God really is.

1. Love: Every man and animal is born with a very powerful emotion towards their parents and parents towards their children. This tells us that whoever created nature is a person of love because this is the first natural instinct everyone who comes into the world has. Matthew 7:11, "If ye then, being evil know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him." John 3:16, "For God so love the world.." 1st John 4:8, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." The love a child feels for his/her parents or vice versa is nothing compared to the love God has for His children. It is just an indicator to the natural man that the creator of this world is a God of Love. 1st Corinthians 13 reveals this love of God to us. Now any religion or school of thought that does not reflect this love towards us in not a pointer towards the almighty God and the creator of the universe.

2. Sowing and Reaping: There is no plant or tree that grew without first being a seed. Nothing on earth is born without a seed being sown first. Every child begins as a seed in the loins of their fathers. Any religion that tells you that you can do whatever you like without reaping does not reveal the true God. There is reason why the earth is spherical, because everything that goes round will come back around. Galatians 6:7, "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Genesis 8:22, "While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest and cold and heat, and summer and winter and day and night shall not cease." If we are accountable for our actions we should be careful as Christians.

3. The Gospel of Christ: There are many aspects of nature that preaches Christ but for the sake of space, I will take just one. Remember, the gospel is simply the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus (God), that the whole world will be reconciled back to God (Himself).

Rainfall: Something as common as rainfall preaches the gospel of Christ; now watch this, Isaiah 55:10, "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from the heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall nor return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the things where to I sent it."
In John 1, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the Word of God. So God likened Jesus to rain. Let us analyze rainfall. First it comes down on the earth just like Jesus came down from heaven to earth to show us the way. Secondly, the ground absorbs the water, remember Jesus Christ died and was buried. Thirdly, the same water that was absorbed into the ground evaporates as a result of the heat that comes from the sun and it goes back into the atmosphere exactly the way Jesus Christ resurrected and ascended into the heavens -- Hallelujah! These things are no coincidences, they are the reality of the awesome God we serve in Christ Jesus. There are so many ways nature speaks of God to us (Psalm 19:1-2), we are privileged to see it and know because He (God) has opened our eyes to it.

In conclusion, there is only one body that encapsulates (embodies) these qualities of the God of nature and its the body of Christ.(Christians). Christians, be proud of the God you serve because there is none besides Him. The whole world in one way or another is looking for a connection with Him but you have it by reason of His goodness. Glory to God.

God bless you and have a great month ahead.
