EXPECTED END

Welcome to the month of October, may the grace of God continue to abound in you in Jesus name.
A lot of people are of the opinion that what will be will be. A lot of people say, if God is the beginning and the end and has already seen the end from the beginning, why then do we have to even put in effort to succeed since God already knows what or how we would end. Some also go to fortune tellers to know what will happen in the future. Others even say why did God even bother to create man, when He already knew that Adam would fall and the earth will be in chaos?
All these questions are answered in one popular verse of the Bible, Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I have towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” In the above scripture God said, He thinks about everything and everyone that comes into this world, whether Christians or unbelievers and He said, the thoughts that He has towards everyone are thoughts of good to give us an expected end.

Now the phrase “expected end” is to be looked at closely. We know that if there is an expected end, then there is also an unexpected end. Now the manufacturers of a particular product, created that product to achieve a particular purpose which we can say is the expected end of that product. There is a tendency that the product could also not achieve what it was created for, which becomes the ‘unexpected end.’ Same with man, God sees all that He has created us to be and according to Jeremiah 29:11, it is only good things that God has planned for us which is the expected end, but we through disobedience, ignorance, foolishness could tell the path of the unexpected end. Do you know that whether expected or unexpected end, God sees all our possible ending from the beginning but our actions and choices in life will ultimately determine the end for every one of us.

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:8, “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.” So you see why you have to be careful of the choices you make, because one wrong choice can create a completely different ending from what God has planned for you. Does that mean that there is no room for mistake for a believer? No, there’s room for correction for those who trust and follow after God sincerely. Sometimes, we miss the mark but the Holy Spirit in us is always present to correct us and help us move in the right direction.

How far gone before it becomes too late for me to change? It is never too late, as long as you are sincere and you genuinely, repent God can change the situation because He tells us in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love god, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” The moment you make sure you re-align yourself to God’s purpose for your life, everything starts working together for your good, guess how it happens: 1st Corinthians 10:13; God always make a way of escape in every situation so that we may be able to find ourselves back in His expected end for our lives.

For example in Genesis 1, God created the world and created man, His intention during creation wasn’t for man to fall and become subject to the devil, but He made a way of escape in Christ Jesus for those who will seek His will to be done in their lives and if you look closely at Genesis 2:9, God created the tree of life which is a representation of Jesus Christ, right from the beginning and we know that Christ is the way of escape. God has made unto them that will escape the corruption of this world. That means He has put the solution even right inside the problem, all we need to do is to genuinely follow Him.

Finally my brethren, the fact that it is God’s will doesn’t mean it will always easy, Joseph had to go to prison to get in touch with Pharaoh; Moses had to stay alone in the wilderness for 40 years forsaking all the pleasures in Egypt before he had an encounter with God. Jesus Christ had to die on the cross for the whole earth to be reconciled beck to God. The beginning and middle of the journey may seem hard but the expected end is always a thing of beauty. In every situation, always see God’s end from the beginning and hold n in faith until it comes to pass in Jesus name.

God bless you and have a blessed month ahead.
