FOOD FOR TEENS: Heal The Nation

Dearly beloved, I want us to look at your position in the scheme of things, the big picture of life and the role we are here to play as believers so that we can properly align ourselves to fulfil God’s purpose on the earth.

Jesus Christ said in John 12:24, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” This scripture describes a vivid picture, it describes the life of Jesus Christ in the flesh, it was a kind of life that had never been lived, and it is the life of God in a man. Jesus was the only begotten of the Father, and the Father needed to save the world and He needed to send His Son to save the world but we need to critically look at the process and method through which this salvation was wrought.

1. The corn of wheat (which refers to this Christ life) must fall into the ground and die, which refers to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, if not, Jesus Christ would have remained the only begotten of the Father, without any of us having access to this life, but as soon as He died, was buried and resurrected. He sowed His life so that you and I could become partakers of this life.

Matthew 13:31-32, “Another parable put he forth unto them saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; which indeed is the least of all seeds but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs and becometh a tree, so that birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.” That seed which was planted as a small seed grew into the greatest tree of the earth.

2. John 15:5, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: Jesus Christ is the vine and we are the branches, as believers we are part of this ‘Tree of Life’ and our place in the tree is the branch. The branch is the herb/fruit giving part of the tree, the branch is where the birds of the air lodge on. The vine supplies the life and nutrients to the branches and the branches manifest, display, showcase the beauty and the richness of the tree.

This is our place in the scheme of life, we are to show forth the praises of God, we are the ones who have been saddled with the responsibility of revealing God’s goodness on the earth. In John 15:2, “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away.” No wonder he coursed the fig tree. Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that winneth soul is wise.” We are part of the tree of life and the fruit we bring forth that bring about true soul winning.

Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Your true service to God is letting God work in you as you present yourself to Him so that He can through you demonstrate His goodness to everyone who encounters you. You are a part of the tree of life. You should bring forth herbs that will heal the nations of the earth and fruit for food. Revelations 22:2, “In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” What do we mean when we say bearing fruits as believers?

The Bible says in no uncertain terms about fruit bearing in Ephesians 5:9, “For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.” Goodness, righteousness and truth are what the nations of the earth (every man and woman) need to heal. These are the key ingredients that cause men to turn to Jesus and they expressed in the form of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance as stated in Galatians 5:22-23.

This is why our bodies must always be presented to God as vessels through which the world must be reached. Jesus right now is counting on you and I to yield ourselves to Him for this beautiful and glamorous purpose that is before us.

In every action, decision, word, thought and in every moment of our lives we must project this nature of Christ to everyone and everything around us. This is our ultimate calling. This is what it means to be conformed to the image of Christ, this is how we create the change that Jesus expects us to create, just like He did when He was on earth because we are from the same tree and we must do our part so that through us the nations of the earth would find shelter and comfort, provision and healing.

God bless you. See you next month.
