THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL PART ONE

Hello my dearly beloved saints, I wish you a great and successful year ahead. 2019 was wonderful, I believe God for a better and more fruitful 2020. 

Beloved, do you know that it is the will of God for you to prosper and be in health and He wishes for it to happen? Apostle John was talking to his disciples according to 3rd John 1:2, he says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Wishes are good but it is not going to bring any change. For the fact that the Pastor is wishing for the Church to be blessed does not mean the church is going to be blessed; mere wish cannot turn things around. There are things that you need to put in place to turn your life around. Though it may be the wish of the man of God for you to prosper but what you need to do need to be communicated to you. You should know that God is no respecter of any person, which means if anyone believes and does as the scripture has said, he will receive the same blessing. The scripture above is information given to you to make you understand that it is God’s will for you to succeed, so you can lay hold on it and succeed but there are some things that you should do. 

Anything that God wants to do to turn our lives around is initiated through the gospel. In the book of Romans 1:16 the Bible says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” We are made to understand that the gospel is the power that initiates change in the lives of believers. People are getting it wrong when they start going from place to place seeking the miracle that they want; the miracle is in the gospel. The gospel is the power of God to save, and not just salvation from sin alone, the gospel is the power of God to heal, it is the power of God to prosper, and it is all encapsulated in the word salvation. It is the gospel that brings the change which means it is your response to the gospel that determines the level that you occupy in the realm of the kingdom. 

God has no other power to change man only through the gospel, it is called GOODNEWS. How come God always so validate and put as most important the preaching of the word? Because the secret to life is hidden in the word which is the gospel. You have got to know how the gospel works; it has the ability to change anybody’s life as long as the person is willing. No matter the situation you are or have been, the gospel is the power of God to resurrect you and bring you out of it. Apostle Paul says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to prosper, to heal, to deliver, to save, to protect (i.e. Salvation),” Everything that you need in life is hid in the gospel. He went further to say, “for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth” which means the gospel doesn’t work for those who don’t believe. If you believe, it will change your life. 

In Galatians 3:5 scripture says, “He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? What He is saying is that, there is no miracle except you hear the word that brings the miracle. He said for those who received the Holy Ghost, they received because they heard the word of faith concerning receiving the Holy Ghost, and for those who received their healing, they received because they heard the word of faith that relates to healing. In the book Act 14:7-10 the bible says, “And there they preached the gospel. And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.” He is talking about the power of the gospel, as soon as you believe the power comes to create in you what the gospel says. The gospel has power but it is an inherent and potential power in itself that can’t change life until you release your faith by believing. Once you release your faith by believing the gospel that is preached, then the potential energy is turned to kinetic and power is released. Nothing will make it work until you believe it, and if you say you believe it and you are still sitting down doing nothing, you don’t believe; every believing must act. 

Every Christian is a potential rich man in the gospel, every Christian is a potential healed man in the gospel. God sees you prosperous and well, whatever He calls you is what He believes you are. Take a look at the story of Gideon in Judges 6 from verse 12 when God called him a mighty man of valour, Gideon thought himself not worthy of such honour in verse 15, “And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.” And in verse 16 the Lord said to Him, “And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.” And immediately He believed the gospel, his strength came. If he had not believed the gospel, he would have remained little and not been able to deliver Israel. The gospel is the power of God to liberate you.
