IT'S NOT WORTH IT. DON'T GIVE PLACE TO THE DEVIL

Dearly beloved, I welcome you in the name of the Lord Jesus into the first quarter of this year 2020. May the Lord keep you and guide you in all your affairs this month in the name of Jesus. This month I will be sharing with you on what I titled ‘Don’t Give Place to the Devil.’ 

1st Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.” To be vigilant means to be in high alert. Brethren, the reason for this is because you have and adversary who is bent on destroying you. He won’t think twice to eliminate you if he has the chance to. The Bible says in John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…” Hence the scripture admonishes us in Ephesians 4:27 saying, “Neither give place to the devil.” The devil has the ability to destroy only if you give him a place. 

The devil has no place in your life as a believer except the one you permit him to have. I had an experience which the Holy Spirit caused me to see before my very eyes. How a vibrant fly got stuck, webbed in and juiced out by a spider. And the Holy Spirit popped up a question in my Spirit, what is a fly doing in a spider’s web? It was such a painful and agonizing sight to behold, how this fly struggled to escape but the more it tried the more the spider continuously webbed and suspended it with its web removing the legs from its foundation which was the wall. What is a fly with wings and so much airspace to fly doing in a corner with a spider? So many Christians are in the same situation right now, basking in the devils corner thinking his web and sting will not hold you. 

In 2nd Timothy 2:26, the bible says, “And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” The devil has snares (traps). But we must not be ignorant of the devil’s devices. The world and its systems are the devils playground. The Bible says in 2nd Corinthians 4:4, that the devil is the god of this world system. Therefore, functioning and operating by the world system, you are giving him a place in your life. As a believer, you have so much airspace to fly in this world, but you can only navigate through this world using the word of God as your compass in other for you to get to your destination. Because the devil is going to raise up dust, waves and storms to lure you in, but to survive the dust, waves and storms, you need the word of God inside of you. (Matt 7:24-27; Colossians 3:16). 

Ecclesiastes 10:8b says, “Whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bit him.” The children of Israel were bitten by fiery serpents because they left the covering of God through their disobedience. They opened the door for the devil to steal, kill and destroy them. (Numbers 21;5-6). They left their free airspace and walked into the corner with the devil by them functioning in a manner they ought not to. Beloved, let’s not deceive ourselves any more. The Bible says in 1st John 1:6, “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.” We can not partake of the table of God and that of the devil and expect to get to the place where God has designated for us to be. Not giving a place to the devil is not God’s responsibility but yours.

What God has in store for us far exceeds what we can achieve on our own, it goes beyond our wildest imagination, those desires in us to achieve great things are product of the great things God has placed inside us but because we have not sort Him, we try to achieve these things based on what we see in the natural. Hello my beloved saints, I welcome you to the month of December in the name of Jesus. May the Lord who has brought you this far take you farther and cause you to see and experience His glory in this new month in Jesus name.
