FOOD FOR TEENS:WHY AM I HERE

Have you ever asked this question? Why am I here? Why is God leaving us believers on the earth after our born again experience? Why is God not calling us home as soon as we are saved, to avoid falling away again? If you have asked this question, you will discover that the reason God has kept us on the earth is in 1st Peter 2:9, “But ye are chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a perculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” The reason why we are still on the earth is to show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Let us assume that someone were to present you with a gift, like a car that is superior to any car that you have ever driven, a car that can pass through waters, fly in the sky and still come out perfectly fine, are you going to take the car and keep it in a place where no eyes can see it or you are going to drive the car round the town for everyone to see the kind of car that you have been gifted and appreciate the giver/manufacturer of such as sophisticated car. This is exactly what 1st Peter 2:9 is saying about us; We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, these features has never been seen in any man on the earth until Jesus Christ; which we now possess as believers. Like that sophisticated car, we are not created to be hidden but to be displayed, to be used specifically to solve problems that no one can and by reason of our performance, we shew forth the praises of Him who hath called us out of darkness into His marvelous kingdom. No wonder Matthew 5:14 tells us to let out light shine, so that men may see and give glory to our heavenly Father.
Now that we know why we are here, we must learn how to live out God’s purpose here on earth. Romans 8:29-30, “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first born among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called...” Now for us to really understand our purpose and calling we must first be conformed to the image of His Son. We must be conscious of our new nature and the capability of our new man in Christ Jesus. 2nd Corinthians 3:18, “But we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the spirit of the Lord.” For us to conform to the image of His Son, we must continually behold (look into the perfect law of liberty). This is what Romans 12:2 is saying “And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” You will see here again that before you can get a grasp of the will of God concerning you, your mind must be renewed. This is exactly what Romans 8:29-30 and 2nd Corinthians 3:18 were saying.
So learn to continually focus on your new personality through the word of God, and know that this transformation is done by the Spirit of the Lord. Don’t focus on your ability or any physical change in your personality to see if there’s any change, just continue looking (studying, meditating, speaking and doing God’s word), one day you’ll wake up and discover how far the Holy Spirit has brought you.
Only when you are conformed to the image of His Son, will you begin to discern with absolute clarity your purpose on the earth. Note that your overall purpose is good works; Ephesians 2:10, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” But now God starts leading you by His Spirit and His word specifically to the area wherein you have been ordained to function in the kingdom.
So as a new believer, don’t be quick to live where you are and out of zeal decide by yourself how you choose to serve God, this kind of zeal might not be according to knowledge but according to 1st Corinthians 7:20 and 24, “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called; Brethren, Let every man wherein he is called, therein abide with God.” My brothers and sisters stay and grow in the grace and wisdom of God and I guarantee you that God will not only reveal Himself to you, He will also reveal what He has called you to do for Him so that you will find true fulfillment in this life and in the life which is to come.
God bless you, see you next month.
