IT'S NOT WORTH IT: SELF CONDEMNATION part one

Hello beloved, I welcome you into this glorious month of July in the name of the Lord. May you increase in the knowledge and wisdom of God. This month I will be admonishing you on what I titled “SELF CONDEMNATION.”

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1). Too many Christians labour under the burden of condemnation and this is one of the strategies of Satan to keep Christians in bondage. He knows that the problem of sin consciousness. But the Bible declares that there is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the senses. That means it doesn’t matter whether you feel condemned, what matters is what the word of God says.

The Bible says, “…Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.” You can vividly see from the scripture that condemnation brings unhappiness. It can drive a person from God. Some people have actually quit praying, studying their Bibles, and going to church because the devil accused them repeatedly. Since the evil one can pass himself off as an angel of light, he convinces the person it was the Lord who was doing the condemning. The devil will want to persuade you that you are useless and never qualified, but you must never allow the enemy to convince you.
The Bible says in Hebrews 1:3, “Who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high.” The scripture says, Jesus Christ is the express image of God’s person. In other words, If you want to know God’s person and character then look at Jesus. Here is a fact, God doesn’t condemn. John 3:17 says, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.”

Jesus said to a woman caught in the very act of adultery, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11). Obviously the woman had sinned. So have we, but God forgives us if we ask for forgiveness from him. After that there is no reason for guilt. Who then condemns us? The devil does. Many times even when we have done no wrong. Revelations 12:10 tells us he is the accuser of the believers and he accuses them day and night. When we believe his accusations, we start blaming ourselves and guilt drives us from God. In some cases, a person thinks he can never be forgiven. You can be sure a thought like this is not from God. Our heavenly Father always wants to forgive the person who repents.
How do we know if our guilt is coming from Godly convictions for a wrong we have done or if our guilt is produced by the devil? When the devil accuses us, repentance never satisfies. We still feel as bad as before. The devil is the thief, he wants to steal your joy, your peace and destiny, that walk you have with the Father because his mission according to John 10:10. “The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy.” You see, if he can’t get us to sin, he will try to make us feel as though we have sinned.

God bless you. Continue next month.
