TRAIN YOURSELF

Hello beloved saints, I welcome you once again to the month of July. May God’s glory be revealed in your life in Jesus name. I will be sharing with you on what I titled “TRAIN YOURSELF

If you are born again, you owe God the responsibility of building up yourself on your most holy faith (Jude 1:20). Now that you are a Christian, the next step is to build yourself up. The Bible says, “As He is so are we in this world.” (1st John 4:17), But this has to do with our spirit (i.e. our inner man), it has nothing to do with our flesh or minds. It is our responsibility as believers to renew our minds and make it like the mind of Christ.

The Bible says we have the mind of Christ – 1st Corinthians 2:16 but yet scripture says “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2. When you look at your spirit, it is like Jesus, there is no difference but the reason you are not able to perform or function like Jesus did while He was on earth is because your minds have not been renewed like His. We need to get to the point where we think, talk and act like Him, so that we can have the boldness that Jesus had while He was on earth. Until our minds become one like that of Christ, we cannot perform like He did while He was on earth. The difference is that our minds are not yet renewed like that of Christ and that is why the Bible is given to us so that we can renew our minds as we study the word of God. The Bible told us in the book of 2nd Corinthians 3:18, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” As we look at the word of God we become like Jesus from one level of glory to another we keep changing until we become like Jesus. Remember the book of Ephesians chapter four tells us as well that we are supposed to grow until we come to the fullness and stature of Christ. In our spirits we are already there but in our minds we are not yet there.

The struggles that we face on earth has nothing to do with our spirits because we all are spiritual giants but the challenge that we have is that our minds are not renewed to draw out what is in our spirit so that we can use it in our present world. 2nd Corinthians 10:3-4 says, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” This means that whatever comes to us on this earth is a battle of the mind; it is your mind that the devil is after because if he is able to take over your mind, he is able to take over your life. Your mind controls your life and whatever you are or have is as a result of the reflection of your mind. It is your mind that shapes your personality and people describe you based on the personality or character your mind has created, no one sees your spirit except God.

If you are not able to draw out what is in your spirit to be made manifest in your mind people will say that you are not a Christian. It is possible that you are a Christian but you have not yet renewed your mind to synchronize with your spirit; so that you can bring forth what is in your spirit through your mind that you may become the real Christian that people ought to say you are. Until your mind agrees with what is in your spirit, you cannot draw out what is in your spirit. For example one of the things that is in you is joy, and the Bible says “with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3), which means if you don’t have joy in your mind though it may be in your spirit, it will not manifest. You have to ensure that you exercise the joy in your spirit by exercising the joy in your mind; whether you feel like it or not, you rejoice in the Lord. As you begin to rejoice the joy in your mind connects with the joy in your spirit and the reality of what is in your spirit will show up in your physical life. You can’t draw out what is in your spirit when your mind says it doesn’t exist in your spirit.

One of the things we owe God after giving our hearts to Christ is to trains our minds, Hebrews 5:14 says, “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” You’ve got to exercise your senses and train yourself to be obedient and submissive to the things of the spirit, so that you can benefit from what God has deposited inside of you. Until you train your mind to agree with what God says, there is going to be some disagreement, as a result it will seem whatever God has said concerning you is nonexistent. The reason is because you have disagreed with what God has said concerning you and in your mind it doesn’t exist, then it becomes just like you think in your mind. You owe God the responsibility of training your mind to agree with whatever He has said, so that in agreeing, your mind will accept that there is another realm of life which is beyond this realm that you see physically. When your mind begins to understand that there is another realm of life that exists apart from the physical, it starts tapping into it. Now the mind no longer believe only in the physical realm, it begins to believe in another realm that is higher than the physical because you have trained it to believe as such. At this stage when you speak what God’s word says concerning you, the mind no longer doubts, instead it agrees with what the word of God says because you have trained it to believe that there is another realm that supersedes the realm of the physical.

When you have trained your mind to agree with your spirit, then you train yourself to believe in your words. Until you learn to believe in your words, you will not see the miraculous in your life. Many believe in the words of Jesus and their pastors but they don’t believe in their own words, that is why great things are not happening in their lives. It is your words in your life that moves mountains not the words of your leaders, that is why Mark 11:23 says, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” It is what you say that rules your life.

If you don’t train yourself to believe your words you cannot see miracles. People don’t believe their words because they don’t trust themselves, they think their words are not binding and when they speak, it won’t come to pass. The reason you believe that your words cannot produce result is because you feel your words has no power because you don’t trust your words. God doesn’t play with His words, words are covenants, they are binding, once you say it, it goes into the realm of the spirit to create what you have said for you. Every one of your words carries power, that is why Jesus told us in Matthew 12:33-37, “Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” You being a Christian does not mean you will be financially buoyant or have a fruitful and productive life, what you say is what will make it happen. You must train yourself because your word carries power. What are you saying concerning the situation that you find yourself? Find out what God says through His word concerning you and choose to speak those words that edify and bless your life.

God bless you and see you next month.
