FOOD FOR TEENS: JESUS WAS RICH

"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."
2nd Corinthians 8:9

As explicit as the scripture above, a lot of believers still believe with all their heart that Jesus was poor and this is so because the devil want us to keep up this mindset so that he can keep believers poor and down, as a matter of fact this is the reason a lot of Christians are poor. How can a poor man bless you? That's why a lot of Christians don't expect much from God. These are the thoughts that play in our subconscious mind as believers that makes most believer reluctant to hold on in faith for all their needs to be supplied in Christ Jesus. Some even are of the opinion that been rich is a sin but I refer back to the above scripture, if this is true how come Jesus was rich and he gave us access to this wealth? To put this in proper perspective we have to understand what money is.

Money: A piece of metal, as gold, silver, copper, etc., coined, or stamped, and issued by the sovereign authority as a medium of exchange in financial transactions between citizens and with government. We often equate riches with money, money represents buying power, the more money you have the more you can buy which is why we refer to people in possession of large sums of money as rich. Money is a means of exchange and so the more money a person possesses the more he can exchange his money for. This is why people with money can exchange their cash for their needs and wants, so to be rich is not really to have money but for you to be well supplied and lacking nothing. Ecclesiastes 10:19 says, “A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.” From the above scripture we can see that Feast brings laughter, wine brings merriment but money brings all things, this means that money can be exchanged with everything mankind has to offer but it does not guarantee the quality of these things for example money can buy the best healthcare man can offer but man's advancement in healthcare is still very limited because there are several ailments that money can not cure, it can only manage. Money can't buy children, money can't buy life (Ecclesiastes 7:12 says, “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”)

So therefore, to be rich one must possess a currency with which he can exchange all his desires with. So a lot of people believe because Jesus didn't possess fiscal cash therefore he didn't have a means of exchange enough to be called rich, this is a wrong assumption and nothing could be farther from the truth, what He possessed is what I like to call divine capital, He created the whole earth so there's no way He needs to buy what belongs to Him. Colossians 1:16 says, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.” This is the reason why He could feed 5,000 men with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes, He could heal all manner of sickness like leprosy and make them perfectly whole (which even modern medicine can't do) He could turn water to wine and so much more. This riches is tied directly to the life of Jesus and anyone who accepts Him accept His life and therefore becomes a carrier of the blessing which makes rich. Hallelujah!!!

Acts 3:6 tell us that; "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." Peter understood that he had something more superior and effective than money and what he had was able to create the change he desires, and that is the authority and inheritance we have in Christ Jesus and even till date there's no doctor on earth that could have made that lame man walk. We who are born again has been called into the greatest inheritance ever but we must first acknowledge it so that the communication of our faith might be effectual.

God bless you.
