FOOD FOR TEENS: POWER GENERATOR

There's a popular saying that "A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian" this statement is not emphasized enough because therein lies the solution many seek. According to 1st Corinthians 1:24, "But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God." From my observations I discovered a pattern with God in Scriptures. There are two ways He manifests Himself in any situation; in power and in wisdom. That's why the above Scripture tells us that Christ is the power and wisdom of God to them who are called.

For the sake of this article we will be looking at the power aspect of God's manifestation in the life of a believer. We are told explicitly in 2nd Timothy 1:7 thus, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." This power aspect of the Christian walk is so important yet so underrated in the body of Christ today. Jesus told His Apostles to tarry in Jerusalem until they be endued with power from on high. That was going to be the beginning of their ministry without Jesus physically being with them. Yet Jesus told them to wait for power to be deposited in them before they do anything; that tells you that the power of God through His Spirit is an integral part of our Christian life and so must not be taken for granted. As a matter of fact there's no effective Christianity without the power of the Holy Ghost.

When we speak God's word and promises concerning our lives, what we are doing is creating a reality that God desires but that reality will never manifest until power is released. Genesis 1:2 says, "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." If you observe, the Spirit that generates power first moved over the face of the waters before any words that brought manifestation was spoken. For example you have a house filled with all the modern gadgets known to man and you know that living in a house like that will bring comfort to your life but that house does not have electricity, how will you enjoy all the pleasures and comfort those gadget brings? You can't. Even though God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places, but without that power we won't manifest all the good things God has prepared for us. That's why scripture tells us in Galatians 3:14 thus, "That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." The key to unlocking all these is the Spirit of God given unto us.

I believe the power of the Holy Ghost is the spiritual equivalent to electricity and just like you can't power gadgets and heavy duty equipment without electricity even so you cant create your desired change without the power of the spirit. No wonder in 2nd Timothy 1:6 says, "Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands." To "stir up" means to generate, just like you put on some generator set, you turn and turn, it gets to a point it picks up and begin to generate enough energy to power your appliances. Even so you must normalize generating spiritual energy into all that you do on earth by praying in the Holy Ghost. That's how your name will be mentioned in conversations for good in your absence, because the spirit of God moves ahead causing everything to work out for your good. Daniel stayed in the place of prayer for 21 days even when the result didn't seem to be forth coming but the Bible tells us that the longer he stayed there the more power he generated in the realm of the spirit because we were told that Angel Michael came and rebuked the demon obstructing the answer from coming. Ezekiel chapter 47 also talks about this power increasing in measures until it begins to produce the desired result. Jesus referred to the power of the Holy Ghost as the living water in John 7:38-39, even so we refer to a wire with current or power as live wire. For a lot of us our houses has been decked with all our desires but the Lord is just waiting for us to generate enough power for these appliances to start functioning by praying in the Holy Ghost.

In Acts 12, Peter was supposed to be killed but the church generated so much power and the Angel of the Lord moved to deliver him. Learn to see prayer (especially praying in the Holy Ghost) as a way of generating spiritual energy. Let it be a part of your everyday life. Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." You want to get results? generate power, Jesus said to His disciple, this kind goeth not except by prayer and fasting, He was referring to generating greater measures of power.
