IT'S NOT WORTH IT: DON'T GIVE UP

Hello dearly beloved, I welcome you to the month of April in the name of the Lord Jesus. I hope you are increasing in the knowledge of God? This month, I will be admonishing you in what I titled “Don’t Give Up.”

Amongst the wonderful characters of God, one of them is that God never gives up. When you take a close look at the book of Luke 15, about the prodigal son and his father, you will come to see this beautiful characters of God which He wants us to imbibe. Have you come to discover that Jesus not giving up is what brought about the salvation of your soul? The bible says, “...who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Before the glory, there was the cross, the shame and the reproach but He never gave up; why should you? He was bruised and afflicted, full of pains and sorrow but never gave up because he was looking at you, the new creation. "He looked not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.” 1st Corinthians 4:18.

The scriptures made us to understand in Acts 27, that Paul was in serious trouble, so much trouble that it placed his life and the lives of others around him in mortal danger. Now, this was not Paul’s only trouble. The Bible says he had trouble before they encountered the storm. You see he had already been arrested and he was on his way to Rome to stand trial. And now he’s on this ship caught up in the midst of the turbulent and life threatening storm, which was more trouble. Isn’t that just like life? Sometimes before we can put one problem to rest, you find yourself assaulted by another. The same was with brother Job, he hadn’t gotten over the trauma and awesome impact of the first problem before he was hit with another problem. And before he could really come to grips with the first and second problem, he was then assaulted by the third one and the problems just kept on coming, Job 1:14-19, but he never gave up and we could see his end that it was glorious – Job 42:10-13, 16. Does it seem like you are in the midst of a seemingly impossible situation right now? The Lord is saying to you, DON’T GIVE UP. There is light on the other side. The Lord has not forsaken you, for He said, “...I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5. If the Lord has not said it is over, why conclude it so.

You may say, I don’t understand my predicaments, I have prayed, fasted, sown seeds and done all within my power to be done but nothing seems to change. I am here to tell you according to Galatians 6:6, “And let us not be weary in well doing. For in due season we shall reap if we faint not (don’t give up)." Beloved, you will reap, you will come out of that situation only if you don’t give up. Don’t throw in the towel. Listen beloved, in Luke 18:1 (Amp), the Bible says, “And Jesus told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).” 1st Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.” That means continue in prayer until there is a change; don’t give up, don’t give in. Some Christians give up too quickly, but faith never gives up.

There is no victory for anyone who gives up. King Saul as a result of fear of his enemies and his men leaving him threw in the towel by giving up on the instructions given him by Prophet Samuel and doing contrary. He didn’t just lose his relationship with God, kingship but his life also. Giving up is telling God, I don’t trust you enough. Giving up is unbelief. Don’t be unbelieving. The Bible says, “so we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.” Hebrews 3:19. Don’t give up on God, don’t be unbelieving. Scriptures says, “Seek yet out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded , and his Spirit it hath gathered them.” Isaiah 34:16. Beloved, go to the scriptures; take words with you that pertain to that situation confronting you, meditate them, believe them and use them to combat that Goliath and it come down in Jesus name.

You are coming out of that situation unhurt, full of faith and great confidence because indeed the Lord is gracious in Jesus name. God bless you.
