IT'S NOT WORTH IT: BE NOT DECEIVED part one

Dearly beloved, I welcome you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ into this awesome month of November. This month I will be sharing with you on what I titled “Be Not Deceive”.

The Bible says in the book of Jude 1:3-4, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Take note of the phrase, ‘turning the grace of our god into lasciviousness.’ The Amplified Bible put’s it this way “ungodly (impious, profane) person who pervert the grace (the spiritual blessing and favor) of God into the lawlessness and wantonness and immorality.” They have perverted the grace, they have corrupted this gospel of grace to suit their ungodly and lawless lifestyle.

There are so many deception going around today, especially the perverted preaching of the gospel of grace, which so many Christians have bought into, believed and are continuously and consciously walking in that path. Therefore paving a path of destruction for themselves. You will hear Christians today say, “once saved, always saved.” This statement is true, but not in the sense or perspective from which those set of people say it from. They’ve come to believe that once you are saved, you are saved forever. You can live in such a manner that pleases you. But they are been deceived. If God hated sin in the time past, He still hate sin today. Whatsoever God frowns at the people of old for, He will still frown at today. If there are consequences for the people old in a manner in which they lived their lives, there are still consequences today. Therefore, we must be wise so as to escape the wrath of God. “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning...” Events were documented for us in the Bible so that we could learn from them and attain to the best and to the man or woman that God has called us to be. But sadly, some Christians are still not learning.

So many Christian have been tutored about grace that once you are a Christian, you can live your life in such a manner that suits you; after all the blood of Jesus had and will wash you of all your sins. But the bible says in Galatians 6:7-8, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked; For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting.” Many Christians are sowing to the flesh and and want to reap life everlasting. It’s not possible. Have you ever seen a man plant apple seeds and reap mangoes, or have you seen a dog give birth to a lion ? Its not possible. So, is the life of many Christians today; they are walking in the path of hell and want to attain heaven. They want to be part of the table of the devil and at the same time the table of God. It’s either God or the devil. It’s either heaven or hell. There is no middle grounds. 1st Corinthians 10:21 says, “Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devil: ye shall not be partaker of the Lord’s table and of the table of the devils.” So many Christians are already feasting with the devil and are thinking they are still with God. They’ve allowed themselves to be deceived and walking in the wrong path, even the path of destruction.

Colossians 1:13 says, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kindom of his dear son.” As Christians, we’ve been delivered from darkness to the kingdom of God. Therefore we must stay where God has translated us to; which is His kingdom. But if we choose to walk back to darkness, we will suffer what those in darkness will suffer. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty where with Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1). You can be entangled again when you allow yourself to be deceived.
