GREAT FAITH part one

Hello beloved, you are welcome to the month of September. I thank the Lord for you; for the manifestation of His word and power in your life. May you abound more and more in His grace and revelation in the name of Jesus. In this edition we shall be looking at “Great Faith.”

There is a portion of the Bible in the book of Acts where some of the Apostles were arrested (Peter and John); and the Bible says at night the angels went there, opened the prison and instructed them to go to the temple to go preach the word of God. If the word of God is not so important, God will not send us to go preach it to you and anoint several ministers to ensure that they go preach the word. I have seen several persons seeking solutions from God, yet they are running from pillar to post looking for somebody to lay hands on them. It is safe to say that you won’t get it. You are wasting time; you won’t get it. Because that is not the way to receive what you want from God. Don’t misunderstand me, I am not saying that laying on off hands is not the way to receive from God, I am saying that you are applying it wrongly, you are putting your faith in the men of God rather than in the word of God. That is why you have visited a lot of churches and seem not to get any answer. The word of God is very important and it is your faith in the word that will bring the change that you so desire.

There is no faith outside the word of God. If you are not acting on God’s word, you are not in faith. Everything about the operation of the power of God works by faith. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6 thus, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” In other words you can’t get or receive anything from God except by your faith. Any minister who doesn’t teach faith and teach it often is not preaching the full gospel. If you don’t learn about faith no matter how much you clean and wash the church, the devil will defeat you. No matter how you wake up early to pray, Satan will defeat you. Every one of us have faith but you must learn how to use your faith. It is not when war arrives at your doorstep that you learn how to fight. You learn to fight before the war comes. So many of us do not use our faith for the little things. You have a slight headache or pain in your body, you are rushing to take drugs. You don’t think about God’s word because you have medicine. When a situation medicine can’t solve comes that is when you’ll realize that you have missed God. Learn to fight with your faith. If you don’t learn how to use your faith for the little things, when the great things come, it will run you over.

Many Christians don’t use their faith even though they have it. They murmur and complain, looking for people to depend upon. They never use their faith for anything, yet the solution is there. That is why they keep running from one place to the other seeking solutions, they never remember to seek God and His word for the solution. You have to seek God deeper and deeper until you get to the source that will transform your life. You must not stop seeking Him until you see transformation in your life. Because any area of your life that God is not in control of, the devil is in control. Every aspect of your life must be submitted to God for you to get solutions. Stop running from one place to another looking for solutions, everything is hid in the word of God. It is your solution.

There are two kinds of faith that Jesus described in the Bible, the first is little faith and the other is great faith. Little faith cannot achieve great things, great things are only achieved by great faith. So you cannot afford for your faith to be little. If you do you will remain little. You must strive to operate great faith that can turn things around. Matthew 6:30 says, “Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” You discover that Jesus called some persons little faith here. Who are those He called little faith? They are those who worry about what to eat, what to wear, what to drink. They are those who worry about anything and everything. Every Christian who is worried is as a result of little faith. Your faith is not sufficient enough to take care of your challenges that is why you are worried. Jesus talked about another set of people that have little faith in Matthew 8:26, “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” Little faith is always fearful. You are afraid of travelling, you are afraid of dying young, you are afraid of the dark. You are always afraid, your faith is not sufficient. The problem you have is not that you are not a Christian but you have so much insufficiency of the word of God. If you have little faith as a Christian, Jesus is not happy with you. You can’t shine in life and be a victor in practice with little faith. The devil will overwhelm you all the time. Matthew 14:31 says, “And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” Little faith is always a doubting faith. Little faith is always looking at the problem to estimate whether he has received or not. As long as you keep seeing the problem, the problem will remain there. That is why you are not getting results. Little faith looks at the problem, great faith looks at the word of God. Matthew 16:8-11 says, “Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?” Little faith is the faith that forgets what God did for you yesterday. You were sick yesterday and you prayed and received healing; now you are feeling sick again and you prayed because you didn't get it right away you are doubting. You seem to have forgotten that the God who made provision for you yesterday can do the same today; Instead you are weeping and crying like an unbeliever.

God bless you. See you next month.
