FOOD FOR TEENS :THE INTENTIONALITY OF GOD

What God has in store for us far exceeds what we can achieve on our own, it goes beyond our wildest imagination, those desires in us to achieve great things are product of the great things God has placed inside us but because we have not sort Him, we try to achieve these things based on what we see in the natural. We try to make sense of those things our spirit yearns for, we try to give them expression but we fail to go to Him that has put these things within us. You see people trying to achieve success in their careers, homes, businesses, academics, etc. thinking they will find true fulfillment. They dream of owning big companies, hoping to find fulfillment because they think that is the best way to get true fulfillment but every time a target is met a new one is created, yet the fulfillment they seek seems to elude them.

All of creation seeks this fulfillment the creator has created and placed within them. Romans 8:19 says, “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” No man finds fulfillment until the purpose of God is realized. To fulfill God’s purpose for your life, you must seek His kingdom first, and this can be done through:

1. Prayers: A man who seeks God through a consistent prayer life, not seeking his own will but the will of God, aligns himself for God’s best. That’s why Apostle Paul told us in Romans 8:26-27, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” A man who prays in the spirit all the time exposes himself to the will of God and the direction of his life by the Spirit of God. No wonder the next verse tells us that all things work together for good to those who pray in the spirit regularly. Sometimes you find your life going through places you never expected it to go, just know that it is part of God’s plans for your life, just imagine the life of Jesus and the Apostles on earth, the trajectory of their lives were strictly by the Holy Spirit and not by them. As they made prayer their mainstay, they all fulfilled the reason for which they were created. Pray regularly and consistently, allow the Holy Ghost go ahead to chart the course of your life, the will of God in heaven will be achieved on earth in you.

2. Study and meditation of the word: Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” It is in the word of God that His will is revealed. Don’t try to look for your purpose outside what the book of the Lord says. Let it not depart out of your eyes and your heart. Let the word of God give you clear direction of the purpose of your life. Jesus came into the synagogue and boldly spoke the words that were written of Him, He read it from the scriptures and all His days on earth, He manifested that purpose to the glory of God. Luke 4:18-20 says, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.” Like Jesus, seek God out of His word for you and work in it.

3. Thanksgiving: one of the most powerful ways of working into God’s plans for you is through thanksgiving. In every situation give thanks, understanding that all things works together for your good. Imagine Jacob thought his uncle was cheating him when he made him marry Leah before Rachael but guess what, Leah later bore him more children than Rachael, God had already designed for him to have twelve sons but the test would have been too much for one woman. God prepared a second, imagine Joseph been sold my his brothers to Egypt, not knowing he was on his path to fulfill God’s purpose for his existence. Learn to look at life through this lens of gratitude knowing that whatsoever happens in your life will always work out for your good. 1st Thessalonians 5:18 says, "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” A man who’s always confident of who leads him can never miss his way. So therefore in good and bad seasons give thanks, knowing fully well whose you are.

God bless you and see you next month.
