FOOD FOR TEENS: DILIGENCE (GOD'S WAY UP)

Image
A lot of Christians have this notion that as believers we are supposed to work as ants and eat like elephants, this is a very nice idea but the true question I would like to find out is “where in scriptures did God promise us this? I want us to understand the true concept of work as believers, work according to scriptures was never meant to just feed a man, it is supposed to be a way for us to do God’s will concerning our lives. Ephesians 4:28; "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth." As believers our work is not primarily to feed our stomachs or take care of our physical needs only but to ultimately be a blessing to others, it goes way beyond us, look at the rich man who was so particular about storing wealth for himself in Luke 12:16-21, "And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he t...

PREPARING FOR THE 2ND COMING OF CHRIST

Image
I remember several years ago, during the month of December, when my dad would promise to take us out for Christmas shopping. He would ask us to dress up and wait for him while he goes to attend to some urgent business in the office. We would dress up and wait expectantly. I remember looking to see his pick-up van among the fleet of cars going pass our frontage now and then. Our confidence on his promise would be so profound we would refuse to give up, believing that he would always keep to his word. This is the kind of attitude that the Lord wants us to have towards the second coming. He wants us to believe and expect His soon return. Jesus has said in several parts of scripture that He is coming again to receive us to Himself, so that where He is we shall be also – John 14:1-3. Jesus is coming again but we must be ready and prepared for His second coming. It is only those who expect His coming that He would appear to in His second coming. Hebrews 9:28, “So Christ was once o...

IT'S NOT WORTH IT: DIE TO SELF

Image
Hello my beloved brethren, I welcome you in the name of the Lord to the month of April. I hope you are increasing in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? I will like to admonish you on what I titled “DIE TO SELF.” The concept of dying to self is found throughout the Bible. It expresses the essence of Christian life. Dying to self is something that Christians find very hard to do, especially in the world where there is pressure in all sides to replace the love of God for something lesser. Essentially, the Christian life is an ongoing process of dying to self and living for Christ, seeking His will and kingdom and righteousness, rather than our own. To die to self means in every moment of life to say “NO” to self and to say “YES” to God. To die to self means to “dethrone” self and “enthrone” God. As a believer you must submit yourself and your will to the will of God, because the spiritual growth and maturity of the child of God is solely dependent on how much ex...

FOOD FOR TEENS: JOY (The Underrated)

Image
My beloved teens, welcome to the month of April. We bless God for His goodness and mercy towards us this year. I will like to bring to your awareness the power of “JOY (The Underrated). There is an aspect of Christian life that is not getting the attention that it deserves. People talk about holiness, peace, faith, love but hardly have you heard people talk about joy, but joy is one of the most vital aspects of the Christian life. In Galatians 5:22, we were told that the fruit of the Spirit is love, Joy, peace…. You could see that immediately after love you find joy. A lot of Christians unconsciously think that to be joyful always is not a quality of a strong Christian. We usually equate joy to un-seriousness, the Bible talked about been sober. Someone will ask how can I be sober at the same time walk in Joy because we are told in scriptures to rejoice evermore. Ephesians 5:18-19 perfectly explains that, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the spirit,...

ANGER MANAGEMENT

Image
Hello my dearly beloved saints. Grace and truth be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I perceive strongly in my spirit to admonish you on “ANGER MANAGEMENT. Everybody expresses anger at one point nor the other. No man is exempted from this emotional expression. Anger is a good emotion if controlled properly. Jesus expressed some anger when He cleansed the temple and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seat of those that sold doves – Matthew 21:12-13. He did that to correct those who were making mockery of the temple of God and using it for business instead of prayer. According to the scripture, God commended the anger of Phinehas when he thrust a javelin through a man of Israel and the Midianitish woman he brought to the camp of Israel – Numbers 25:6-8. God’s commendation of his act as expressly written in Numbers 25:10-13 says, “And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Phinehas, the son of Eleazer, the son of Aaron ...

FOOD FOR TEENS: HOW DO WE GET THERE?

Image
Hello my dearly beloved teens. I welcome you to the March edition of food for teens. I know you are growing in the grace and knowledge of God. Everyone on earth is on a mission and running a race, everyman is on a journey whether he is aware of it or not and where ever he ends up can only be determined by him. The words “destiny” and “destination” have the same root meaning and to some extent I think they are one and the same. Destination talks of a final point a person is expected to end his or her journey. Destiny tells of the final point where a person is expected to end his or her life, it is the key moment, the climax of a man’s life. Everyman is supposed to live a life with the consciousness of his/her purpose. Jesus Christ said something remarkable about His purpose in John 4:32 -34; “But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, my meat is to...

IT'S NOT WORTH IT: THE COST OF DISOBEDIENCE

Image
Hello my beloved brethren, I welcome you in the name of the Lord to the month of March. I will be admonishing you on “The Cost of Disobedience.” What is disobedience? According to the Merriam – Webster dictionary, disobedience means refusal or neglect to obey. Disobedience or rebellion against God is a sinful act that the Bible has plenty to say about it. The world is in the huge mess it is today because of Adam and eve’s disobedience.  The word of God defines sin as transgression of the law of God according to 1st John 3:4. Sin is based entirely on plain disobedience. Disobedience is refusing to do what God has commanded or doing what God forbids. With this I mind, Satan is the author of disobedience.  Disobedience to God and to His word has become a norm in our society today. A lot don’t care to know if their lives or actions are in line with the word of God, what matters is I and I alone. The myself seeking pleasure has so much eaten people even Christia...
