IT'S NOT WORTH IT: Let It Go

Hello my beloved saints, glory to God almighty for carrying us to match gloriously not just into this year, but into the awesome month of February. All things will work better for your good this month in the name of Jesus. May the manifestation of God through His word gain expression in your life in Jesus name. This month, I will be sharing with you on what I titled, “LET IT GO.”

Someone may ask, what am I letting go? God wants you to let go, shave somethings that tends to be or stand as a limitation to your progress and upliftment. Do you know something? God wants your life beautiful and prosperous. I so much love the way the New Living Translation put it. “For I know the plans I have for you, “says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disasters, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11). #rd John 2 says, “Beloved, I will above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as your soul prospereth.” You see God’s plan and desire for you? But you must let go of somethings hence they become a blockade in your life.

A lot of people think, God is not willing to bless and transform their lives but unknowing to them, they have posed a wall of limitation between them and God. There is no one who intends to cover a distance full of thorns on bare foot without getting hurt. As believers this year we must deliberately extract every thorns so we can have a productive life.

Matthew 18:21-22 &35 says, “Then came peter to him and said Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times: but until seventy times seven. “So, likewise shall my heavenly father do also unto you. If you from your heart forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.”

Most believers today do not see unforgiveness as something that should be taken seriously. In fact many do not see it as a sin. If any believer has an unforgiving spirit, he shall not obtain mercy from God. Unforgiveness is one thing that can make a Christian pray from year to year without result. Psalm 66:18 says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” Many Christians have caged their destinies and glory because of unforgiving spirit. There is no way any Christian can receive mercy and blessing from God if he or she doesn’t forgive his neighbor, brother, sister, friend etc.

Do not be confused here, God’s forgiveness is not based on our works. Forgiveness and salvation are founded completely in the person of God and by Jesus’ redeeming work on the cross. However, our actions demonstrate our faith and the extent to which we understand God’s grace (James 2:14-26, Luke 7:47). We are completely unworthy, yet Jesus chose to pay the price for our sins and to give us forgiveness (Romans 5:8). When we truly grasp the greatness of God’s gift to us, we will pass the gift along. We have been given grace and should give grace to others in return. In the parable we are seen as servants who would not forgive a minor debt after having been forgiven his unpayable debt.

Unforgivenssess aso rob us of the full life God intends for us. Rather than promote , our unforgiveness fester into bitterness. Hebrew 12:14-15 warns, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.” Similarly 2nd Corinthians 5:5-11 warns that unforgiveness can be an opening for Satan to derail us.

Unforgiveness is a sin that will eat you from the inside out. It will destroy you like a growing cancer. It is a poison to the soul. Time and again, scripture calls us to forgive one another. Ephesians 4:32, for example says, “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” We have been given much in the way of forgiveness, and much is expected of us in return. Though forgiveness is often difficult, to be unforgiving is to destroy God and to depreciate the greatness of His gift. Think about it..

May God bless you. See you next month.
