IT'S NOT WORTH IT: DON'T COMPROMISE YOUR COMPANY

Hello dearly beloved,  May all that the Lord have in store for you this month be made manifest in Jesus name. I am sharing with you on what I titled, “Don’t compromise your company.”

The Bible says in the book of Philippians 3:1, “Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grevious, but for you it is safe.” It is of utmost importance as a believer to mind your company. They can either make you or break you, hence these words. So many Christians have turned the other way because they compromised their company. They have left the light and blindly wallowing in darkness. The Bible says in 2nd Corinthians 11:14, “And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” Know this, so many things that you think are nice and good in your own sight might not be for you but against you. Anyone who does not point you to Jesus and all that has to do with you is not a good company.

Proverbs 13:20 says, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” We are all called out of darkness and into this light so why would we ever want to go back to walking in darkness again. That’s exactly what we do when we walk with fools who are headed to suffer harm or to be destroyed sooner or later, walking in the darkness of the world with the world will cause us to stumble and fall. We can end up paying the same penalty as the lost do if we continue to walk with them I would rather hang around those who are wise and cause my relationship with Christ stronger and better than walk with those who are headed for destruction.

1st Corinthians 15:33 also says, “Be not deceived: evil communication corrupts good manners.” We tend to become more like those we hang around with. They can ruin our godly morals and ruin our judgment very quickly and we can be deceived if we’re not careful. It’s so much harder to resist temptation to sin when those around you are already doing it. You are the round peg in a square hole in those instances so why try to fit in where you’re not supposed to? Listen beloved, if you are continually standing with them and sitting with them in places you’re not supposed to be in, you might find yourself standing where they will before the judgment seat of Christ (Revelations 20:12-15). I know you don’t want that. Apostle Peter reminded the church “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts.”- (2nd Peter 3:3) and Jude wrote that “How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.” (Jude 1:18). These men and women are not walking after Christ who is the way, (John 14:6) but after their own ungodly lusts, so how and why do you think walking with them will lead you to God’s divine purpose for your life.

Think about it, if you put on a pair of white glove and the go out and work in the mud and dirt, the gloves are going to get muddy. The mud and dirt are not going to turn white, it is the other way round, compromise never works. We somehow convince ourselves that they’ll get better, our good will rub of on their bad, but we are the ones ending up soiled in the process. It does matter what our associations are. It is amazing how quickly those who run with evil, those who run with people who rebel against God begin to rebel. Those who walk with complainers quickly begin to complain about church leaders, other Christians compromise never works. Romans 16:17 says, “Now I beseech you brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.” Note, God did not say join them, He says avoid, stay away from them. Why? Because He knows that they will cause you harm.

Beloved, like Peter and John in Acts 4:23, who went to their own company, go for company who will encourage to pray, to study boost your hunger and passion for the things of God and your life will never remain the same. God bless you. See you month.
