THE CONSTITUTION part one

What is the Constitution? The constitution is the basic principles and laws of a nation. Every nation on earth has her own constitution. Nigeria as a nation has her own constitution and without it there is no Nigeria. The constitution of Nigeria contains every laws and regulations that makes this country Nigeria a sovereign nation. It contains all the laws that determines the powers and duties of the government and what you as a Nigerian is supposed to do. Whosoever breaks the rules as stated in the constitution has broken the law and whatever action he took becomes illegal and such a person will be punished according to the law written in the constitution. Without it, there will be anarchy in this country.

So also it is in the kingdom of God. Every thing that makes Christianity what it is, is contained in the Bible. The Bible is the constitution of Christianity. It is the constitution of the kingdom of God on earth. Without the Bible, there is no Christianity; without it, we cannot live to please God. Without it, we know nothing about God and Christianity. If you take the Bible away, there is no Christianity and just like the constitution of Nigeria, if you act against it, there are penalties and repercussions. If you want to be praised by the government, you must work in accordance with the laws of the nation and if you want to be praised and blessed by God, you must walk in accordance with the constitution of the kingdom of God on earth, which is the word of God.

This is where many Christians faulter and make mistakes, they are walking outside the constitution and once you do that you become a malefactor, an offender of the kingdom that you profess to be part of. This is the reason why things are not working for many Christians because they have made themselves illegal immigrants of the kingdom by their actions by walking outside what is contained in the Bible. You make yourself an enemy of God once you walk against the Bible, so also you make yourself an enemy of the state if you walk against the constitution of a nation; the police and the army starts looking for you. You must walk in line with the constitution of the kingdom of God on earth.

When God called the children of Isreal and gave them a word, He did so through a man called Israel whose name was formally Jacob. The Bible says that the word of God that came to Jacob, formed Israel and made a nation out of Jacob that is now called Isreal in the book of Isaiah 9:8, “The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.” In other words, the word that God sent into Jacob produced Israel and for that reason because the word came to Jacob and produced Israel, God sees Isreal as one body. He doesn’t see them as individuals. He sees Isreal as a nation, as one body. Whenever any individual in Israel under the old testament commits sin by walking outside the law, the individual and his family must be put out and killed according to the law, so that the sin of an individual does not rub on the entire nation of Israel. To prevent the entire nation of Isreal from being guilty. If they fail to do so and the sin becomes a national problem, God Himself will judge them and they will lose their lands to the enemies. This is not to say they are no longer God’s people because they have gone away from Him even those who didn’t sin will suffer for it. Joshua 7:18-26 tells us about Achan who stole from the valuables of Jericho, and when Joshua eventually found out about it, Achan, his wife and children were stoned to death because Achan was the head of the nation in his house and as long as he has sin the household has sinned therefore, they must be wiped out. But under the New Testament, God doesn’t see us as a nation. He sees you individually as a nation. Because He sees you as a nation, therefore you must bear the repercussions for your sin; your children do not have a part in it. You are are now the body of Christ and you are a nation before God. 1st Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people....” Therefore, if you do anything, you must reap it yourself and your children do not partake of it.

Many people even believers have been told a lie of the devil, when they were told that their problems are as a result of the sins of their fathers. As a Christian curses have nothing to do with your life. Such curses do not have the right to trouble you. Jeremiah 31:29-30 says, “In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall set on edge.” You can’t reap the repercussions of the sins of your father, that is not justified for you to do that. It is a lie of the devil. Your father will reap his own consequences if he does the wrong thing, except you are not born again and ignorant of the situation. The curses resulting from the actions and sins of your father is not supposed to be in effect in your life.

Galatians 3:13-14 says, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might recieve the promise of the Spirit through faith.” You must come to appreciate what Christ has done for you. The reason Christians are having problems is because they have been told so many lies before they became born again, and now that they are Christians, they still believe those lies. And this is the reason so many Christians are moving from one church to another looking for who to deliver them from the curses. It is a lie of the devil, Christ has redeemed you from the curses; that should be your confession. The Bible is telling you that though you were once cursed and had the curses working in your life, now that you are a Christian, Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law, that the blessing of Abraham might be in operation in your life. You cannot have the curses and the blessings you must have one. For those who think they are cursed, they can never be blessed. The moment you start thinking that the curses of your fathers are in operation in your life, you have annihilated and made the blessings of Abraham of no effect in your life. You can’t have both blessings and curses working in your life, you have to choose; either you are blessed or you are cursed.
