There are protocols that must be observed when we come before God so that we can fully access His grace, but a lot of us just “barge” into His presence anytime and just make requests without observing Spiritual protocols and expect to get results. For instance if you seek to see the president of Nigeria, at his residence in Aso Rock, there are protocols that must be observed before and after we see him, some of such protocols includes; booking an appointment and eventually when you are invited, there are certain security clearance that you must undergo and several other rigorous procedures before you can have audience with the president before you can present your request or petition. Conforming with the world brought about the downfall of lot’s family. Lot was the nephew of Abraham, when he left Abraham with his family and flocks, he pitched his tent towards sodom (Genesis 13:12). This paints a picture of a compromising Christian who because of a situation with a brother or sister or even his local assembly decided to leave and pitch his tent in the world. He eventually became a prisoner of the devil just like lot ended up being taken prisoner in the battles that were fought by the kings of the east against Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 14:12). Instead of learning his lesson, lot became even more conformed to Sodom. By Genesis 19:1, he is sitting in the gate of Sodom i.e. he has become a recognized member of the community. The story of lot ends tragically with the loss that he suffered when God destroyed the two cities because of their sinfulness.      Do you know that you can become a Christian and still be ungodly? When you say you are a Christian, it means that you are on your way to acting and looking like God in all that you do. 1st Timothy 4:7 says, “But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.” To be Godly means to act and look like God in all that you do. It is bad for somebody to become a Christian and doesn’t look like, think, talk and act like God. One of the things God wants us to do immediately after receiving Christ is, learning how to be like Him. That is what is called spiritual maturity which means that you have started growing.      One of the attributes of God is that He doesn’t fail. If God doesn’t fail, and we are His Children, born by Him with His Spiritual DNA on the inside of us, then we are not supposed to fail in anything. The Bible says in the book of Acts 3:1 thus,  “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.”  From the above scripture we can see clearly that the apostles had a time of prayer, they were so disciplined in this regard that they called that time of the day “the hour of prayer” , no wonder they had tremendous results in their ministry, they understood the place of prayer in their lives and they knew they could not afford to compromise on prayers hence they had different hours of prayers.
